Dear Brothers:
Do you recall some of your childhood fantasies? The display of
lights, the warmth of fireplaces, the trimming of the tree, the
preparation for Santa’s decent down the chimney, or the glow
of Hanukkah candles all becoming part of our childhood fantasies.
But, the generosity of Masons celebrating friendship and brotherly
love is no fantasy.
The reality of our adulthood is often shattered during the Holiday
Season. I recall that our mailbox was overflowing with Holiday Cards
and Letters. Now the mailbox seems to be swollen with a mixed bag
of charitable organizations seeking help for their particular group.
Some are very worthy of our support, some are questionable, and
a few are out right frauds. We must choose wisely.
The Masonic Brotherhood Fund is a praiseworthy charity. Our fund
covers the youngest of our family with our Child ID program. It
continues to our teens with our Drug and Alcohol programs. Our middle
years can be difficult for some; our Masonic Benevolence Fund is
at the ready. The senior years for a Mason can be as relaxed as
he may require, Acacia Village, assisted living and full time care
are al available at the Campus, Utica NY. Lets not forget our Masonic
Research Hospital that just may find the cure that will save our
children and grandchildren. Yes, a praiseworthy charity.
My wish for you this year is that as your children’s imagination-and
yours-dances freely this Holiday Season you will appreciate that
gratitude and reality of your Brothers love. Your effort and donations
are both greatly treasured.
May the Great Architect of the Universe Bless You and Yours.
Fraternally yours
Bro. Lou Leone
Brotherhood Fund, Chairman
