Questions Answered About The TOP TEN.
A few viewers and visitors at the site have sent questions about the Top Ten and voting so we figured we'd clear up some of the confusion. First is "Do I have to fill every spot in my top ten?" The easy answer is No, but we do encourage it. The whole point of IndiMusic TV is to expose everyone to all the different talent out there. We encourage you to watch all the videos and place them in order - it does have a bearing on voting - the more spots that are filled the "heavier" the list is. That brings us to question 2: "How is the voting counted?" This is just a general answer but it'll give you an idea. The winning decision is determined by 3 factors. First, the amount of votes an artist has, then the placement and finally how many of those spots have only 1 video in their Top Ten. The numbers will be verified with an attorney and in the case of a tie a 3 judge panel consisting of a peer, an industry professional and an IMTV staffer will make the decision. hope that clears it up a little. More later.

Dolly Parton: Not Just Country Music
Dolly Parton may be one of the queens of Country Music but she's also an Independent artist and IMTV has the privilege of airing her video "Shinola" on what may be it's first non-country oriented video show. Of course, we're not non-country - IMTV tries to cover all different genres and bring you the best of the independent music world in general. We support all types of music and try to bring styles together to expand the viewer ship beyond genre boundaries. In the future we may air videos in genre specific spots but for now this format seems to really be working for the show. Dolly gives IMTV the chance to show that big named artists are taking that jump to independent - just like NIN and The Eagles.

Lucy Walsh Supports Indie Artists
Once in a while you find that special performer. Talent, looks, class and a desire to be the best they can be. IMTV has been very lucky to get to know Lucy Walsh, daughter of Joe Walsh of The Eagles fame. Recently she sent along video promos for IMTV, supporting us and the artists we show. "She's just great," said Ron Smith, one of the co-producers of IMTV. "she sent along a personal message to use on the show that just shows how much she supports independent music. I can't say enough good things about her!" IMTV hopes that some of the other bands they've had the privilege to air follow suit and send along their personal messages. "It just makes the show that much better when the artists themselves support what we're doing here." Ron concluded.

IndiMusic TV Introduces "Ask The Guru"
IndiMusic TV will introduce it's newest segment; Ask The Guru. This will be one of many segments that will fit in the only non-video related or commercial segment programmed into the show's half hour time slot.
The segment is an informally filmed piece that answers questions from independent musicians and fans about the music business. Chris Pati of Guru Project, a music distribution company in New York, takes on some industry insider questions that will help out the indi musician in his or her quest to market themselves, quench their thirst for industry knowledge and make their final product the best it can be. Questions can be asked by clicking the link following this story or the image above.
There are other segments planned for future episodes including human interest pieces and interviews with hot indi acts of today and tomorrow. Check back here as more information is released about each episode!
Ask The Guru your question and it could be answered on the air!

New Interviews: Secondhand Serenade
IndiMusic TV caught up to Secondhand Serenade as well as I Hate Kate at a recent New York Show. In the next few episodes, IndiMusic TV not only shows the interviews but also their latest video releases. Some people may see it as unfair to have bands with such success be in competition with bands with a lesser following but with a "top ten" and voting starting soon, these other great bands will have the same exposure as the "big boys." "It benefits everyone on the show to have acts with larger followings" says producer Ron Smith, "that way the same people that log on to see these videos will have a chance to check out videos from other artists as well - they'll broaden their fan base as well." After all, isn't that what it's all about? Independent Artists getting the exposure they need and deserve?

IndiMusic TV Ups The Bar...
IndiMusic TV started out a tiny production with a tiny budget and limited access to videos. Since that first episode it's all gotten a lot bigger and fast - well, except for the budget! National and international artists are submitting videos along with the little guys and that's good for everyone. With names like Michael Damian, Dolly Parton, Secondhand Serenade and Lucy Walsh (daughter of famed Eagle - and current Indi Artist - Joe Walsh), IndiMusic TV has truly upped the bar. Production has improved immensely as the episodes progress. "It goes to show that the little guy CAN do it" says producer Chris Pati." Ron Smith added "We started with a video camera and a lot of heart and now we're showing videos like (Secondhand Serenade's) 'Fall For You' and finding some of the best new artists out there and bring them to the public eye. It's taking on a life of its own." Chris said "I've been wanting to do a show like this for a long time - and according to the feedback we're getting - this was the time to do it."

IndiMusic TV Is a Hit!
IndiMusic TV and it’s hosts Jeff Apissoghomian and Victoria Faiella have a future hit on their hands. “every episode shows how the program is getting better. There’s a more comfortable vibe and an up in production value every single show.” Says one registered user at IndiMusicTV.com. "I think it's cool that you'll be able to vote on your favorite videos. I hope the functionality of the site gets better." Indeed it will says executive co-producer Ron Smith. "Due to timing issues we weren't able to get full functionality with the website but we've been plodding ahead. Within the month you will be able to view your account info, register your favorites for voting and there will be more interactivity with the bands we show." He adds "We are striving to make this a fully interactive Independent Music community regardless of the show - but I'm awful glad it's picking up momentum! It's just another tool to connect the artists with their fans and that's something every independent artist needs to do."
